Kia India has launched the updated Carnival. The MPV is available in six variants, with prices starting at Rs 24.95 lakh. The main highlight is the adoption of Kia’s new logo, which debuted with the Seltos and the Sonet earlier this year. Here’s the complete price list:
2021 Kia Carnival
Variants | 7 Seater | 8 Seater | 9 Seater |
---|---|---|---|
Premium | Rs 24,95,000 | Rs 25,15,000 | - |
Prestige | Rs 29,49,000 | - | Rs 29,95,000 |
Limousine | Rs 31,99,000 | - | - |
Limousine Plus | Rs 33,99,000 | - | - |
No matter which variant you pick, the Carnival will pack the same powertrain. It consists of a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 197bhp/440Nm and 8-speed automatic transmission. No, there’s still no all-wheel-drive available. All the oomph goes only to the front wheels.
As standard, the Carnival comes with features such as three-zone automatic climate control, power sliding rear doors, auto headlamps, all four disc brakes, cruise control and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Go up the trim tree, and that list expands further with stuff like UVO connected-car tech, wireless mobile charger, ventilated front seats, dual-pane electric sunroof, 10-way powered driver’s seat and electric parking brake. As you’d expect, the list of creature comforts is quite extensive, especially for the range-topping Limousine Plus variant.
Kia offers the Carnival in three colours – Aurora Black Pearl, Steel Silver and Glacier White Pearl. As for the standard warranty, that’s for 3 years/unlimited kilometres. A free of cost membership for 24/7 roadside assistance is also part of the package for three years.
The Carnival is Kia’s flagship offering. In the market, it slots above the Toyota Innova Crysta as a considerably roomier and powerful MPV. The only downer for the Carnival is the lack of powertrain options. However, if that isn’t a cause of concern for you, the Carnival is perhaps the best family vehicle in that price range. Yes, the seven-seat SUVs might offer you better drivability, especially over rougher terrains. But, they won’t be as comfortable or practical as the Carnival. Based on how it has performed in India, Kia must be considering bringing the all-new version that broke cover in August last year.
