Saar: The information was revealed by Cosworth via a tweet which, unfortunately, has been deleted.

We absolutely love these types of developments, wherein the information about a car is leaked accidentally. Aston Martin is in the final stages of landing an all-new hypercar for the hyper-rich. Dubbed as the Valkyrie, it has been in the news for over a year now. Yesterday, Cosworth revealed something so spectacular about the Aston Martin hypercar, via a tweet, that it had to delete it immediately. Here’s the snapshot of that tweet.

A 6.5-litre, naturally-aspirated V12 with 1,130bhp (1,146PS)! To put those numbers in perspective, the most powerful naturally-aspirated V12 currently on sale comes with the Ferrari 812 Superfast. That engine puts out 789PS. No matter how you look at that Ferrari’s oomph number, it is by no means less. But, based on what Cosworth has revealed, the Aston Martin Valkyrie will have 357PS more than the 812 Superfast. Bundle that with a super-lightweight construction, which is expected to help Valkyrie achieve a kerb weight figure of 1,030kg, we are talking at more than 1PS per kg. In other words, the Valkyrie is tipped to have a power-to-weight ratio of 1,000PS per tonne!

It is possible that all the oomph from the Aston Martin Valkyrie isn’t courtesy of the naturally-aspirated V12. Earlier rumours suggest that while the 6.5-litre mill will produce around 1,000PS, the rest will be harnessed from a KERS (Kinetic Energy Regeneration System). That’s the same kind of technology that today’s Formula1 car use for a sudden burst of energy.

Aston Martin SUV To Enter Production In Late 2019

Even though the Aston Martin Valkyrie looks like that, it will be completely road-legal. For breaking track records, the British carmaker will produce a more hardcore, unhinged version of the Valkyrie and that will have the ‘AMR Pro’ badging on it. Needless to say, that will be conceived only to break track records around the globe, especially Nürburgring.
