The only engine on offer is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 107PS of power and 140Nm of torque. Those figures put the Toyota Yaris right behind the petrol-powered variants of the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna (1.6-litre). With the 1.5-litre engine, Toyota will offer two transmission options for the Yaris – 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT (continuously variable transmission). Claimed mileage figures are clocked at 17.1kmpl with the former gearbox and 17.8kmpl with the latter.
