As part of the 2020 model range, Maserati has launched V6-powered variants of the Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte. It is for the very first time that Indian customers will have the option of a V6 engine under the bonnet of a Maserati. Here’s how the price list looks like:

The engine in question is a 3.0-litre V6 petrol, which is boosted by two turbochargers. In the standard variants, it produces 345bhp/500Nm. However, in the S form, the power-plant puts out 424bhp/580Nm. Quick subtraction reveals that the pricer variants get to play with an additional 79bhp/80Nm. In all three models, an 8-speed automatic unit handles transmission duties for the V6. The table below gives away the performance figures:

In case you are wondering, yes the Ferrari plant in Maranello manufactures this engine. In terms of emissions, it is Euro-6c-compliant. In other words, it passes the Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) norms as well. Maserati says that thanks to the pneumatic valves, which are part of the exhaust system, the brand’s soulful sound is always accessible.

As is the case with all Maserati models, the V6-powered Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte are available GranLusso and GranSport trim levels. The former focuses more on a luxurious ambience, whereas the latter drives up the sporty quotient. In the options list for all three cars, there’s a new upholstery option called Pieno Fiore leather. It is available in the colours with specific stitching on the seats and double stitching on the door panels. Apart from that, there are two and three new high-gloss interior veneers for the sedans and the SUV, respectively.

In the colours department, there are ten available for the Quattroporte and eleven for the other two. Two tri-coat colours are also available – Rosso Potente and deep dark Blu Nobile. As for the wheels, a total of five new unique designs, in 20- and 20-inch sizes, are available – two each for the Levante and Quattroporte, and one for the Ghibli.

Soon, Maserati will introduce the GTS and Trofeo derivatives of the Levante SUV in India. Both those versions made their global debut last year.
