Saar: The official India launch events for all these models are slated for later this year.

Porsche has a habit of doing this. Even before a model is officially launched in India, its prices are updated beforehand on the website. And the company hasn’t spared the new Cayenne Turbo and two variants of the 911 model range – GT2 RS and Turbo S Exclusive Series. When we say new, we mean for India. All three names mentioned before made their respective world premieres in the midst of last year. But now, Porsche will be bringing them on to our shores before the end of this year.

New Porsche Cayenne

Unveiled in August last year, the new Porsche Cayenne is expected to launch in India in June this year. On Porsche India’s website, three variants of the Cayenne are listed – the standard, S and the Turbo. The company has, for now, only listed the price of the Cayenne Turbo. It will get a starting price of Rs 1.92 crore (ex-showroom India). It seems then the new Cayenne will start its Indian innings with just the Turbo variant. It is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin turbo V8, which puts out 550PS of power and 770Nm of torque. The powerplant comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission which helps in completing the 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 286kmph. Those figures aren’t bad for something that is 74mm short of 5-metres in length and weighs 2,175kg unladen.

Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series

This iteration of the legendary Porsche 911 was introduced in June last year. What’s more, it was a limited edition stint for the Porsche enthusiasts. Back then, it also claimed the title of the most powerful and quickest (road legal) Porsche 911 ever made. Limited to just 500 units, the Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series is powered by a 3.8-litre, twin turbo, flat six engine producing 607PS of power and 750Nm of torque. Thanks to a 7-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive, it can reach 100kmph from a standstill in just 2.9 seconds, 200kmph in 9.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 330kmph. Oh, the price. If you are lucky, i.e. if Porsche hasn’t sold all the 500 units till now, you can get one booked and personalised (up to an extent) as per your taste for Rs 3.47 crore (ex-showroom India).

Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Did you notice that we used the word “was” with the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series being the quickest and the most powerful 911 ever? Well, it was the GT2 RS that took that crown away. Allow us to mention it properly. Unveiled to the world at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June last year, the GT2 RS is the quickest and the most powerful (road legal) iteration of the 911 model range ever made. It has the same 3.8-litre, twin-turbo, flat six engine as the 911 Turbo S but is tuned to generate 700PS/750Nm. Transmission duties are handled by the same unit too – 7-speed (PDK) automatic but power is only sent to the rear wheels. The result? 0-100kmph is dealt in 2.8 seconds and 0-200kmph in 8.3 seconds. Porsche claims that it will top out at 340kmph and all it is asking you to pay is Rs 3.77 crore (ex-showroom India). Umm… bargain of the century isn’t it?! Right, moving on.

Bookings for all three cars mentioned here have already begun. Interested and rich-enough souls can get in touch with the nearest Porsche dealer and who knows, the first unit that Porsche brings to India could be yours! Oh, we forgot to mention. The reason for these super-high prices is because all three will be imported as completely built units.
