In March this year, Porsche took the wraps off the Cayenne Coupé. To our eyes, it looks like a love-child of the Panamera and the Cayenne. And that child is India bound. The Porsche Cayenne Coupé has found itself some space on the India website. A total of three variants are listed – standard, S and the Turbo. We expect Porsche India to launch all three before 2019 comes to a close.

Compared to a standard Cayenne, the Coupé is 20mm shorter in height and 13mm longer. The underpinnings, however, are shared between the two. To further accentuate the Coupé’s flair as well as high-speed stability, Porsche will offer an adaptive spoiler which extends by 135mm at speeds of up to 90kmph. Because of the sloping roofline and a smaller boot lid, the number plate has been moved to the centre of the bumper.

Over to the powertrains. No points for guessing, they have been lifted from the Cayenne. The standard Cayenne Coupé will house a 3.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine that puts out 340PS/450Nm. The S variant gets the same V6 with 440PS/550Nm and the Turbo boasts a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 which pumps out 550PS/770Nm. In all three derivatives, the Cayenne Coupé comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and active all-wheel-drive. As far as the 0-100kmph sprint times are concerned, the trio, in the same order, claims 6 seconds, 5 seconds and 3.9 seconds, respectively. Similarly, their top speed figures are 243kmph, 262kmph and 286kmph, respectively.

Like the Cayenne, the Cayenne Coupé has a long list of features. It can be had with four-zone climate control, up to 22-inch alloy wheels, up to 18-way power adjustable sports seats with ventilation, ambient lighting, a head-up display, collision and brake assist, night vision assist and adaptive cruise control. Other features include a 12.3-inch, full-HD touchscreen infotainment system, a Bose surround sound system, rear-axle steering and sportier exterior and interior finishes.

Once launched, the Porsche Cayenne Coupé will compete with the likes of the BMW X6, Range Rover Velar and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 4MATIC Coupé. If you had to choose between the three, which one would it be? Let us know in the comments section below.
