We’re in that month of the year when, to clear inventories, carmakers usually announce a hike in prices across models from the following month. Well, Hyundai Motor India has said the from January 1, 2020, the sticker prices of all its models will receive an upward revision. How minute or substantial will the hike be is still unknown. However, the company said that the increased prices would offset the rise in input and material costs.

As you’d expect, the revision in prices will be model and variant dependant. That means new models such as the Grand i10 Nios and the Venue (still running with introductory rates) will get dearer too. What you also need to understand is that this will not be the only time Hyundai will adjust the pricing in the first quarter of next year. Those numbers will go up further alongside the introduction of BS6-compliant models. That activity for all cars needs to happen before April 1, 2020.

If you decide to fast-forward your plans to purchase a Hyundai, the carmaker is running some cracking deals this month. On one side of the scale, benefits worth up to Rs 20,000 are up for grabs on the Grand i10 Nios. At the other end, one could save, in one form or the other, up to Rs 2 lakh on a Tucson. The Creta, which is a go-to choice for many compact SUV buyers, Hyundai is offering benefits worth up to Rs 95,000. These offers are available till stocks last.

Early next year, Hyundai will launch the Aura subcompact sedan. That is likely to become the first model from the South Korean carmaker to come with only BS6-ready powertrain options. Just like the Nios is placed above the Grand i10 in Hyundai’s hierarchy, the Aura will sit above the Xcent as a more upmarket sedan.
