In a bid to streamline its offerings per the demand, Ford India has made some changes to five out of the six models it sells. Only the Mustang, which is due for a mid-life update later this year, has been left as-is for now. The leanest of changes are for the EcoSport. Click here to get the details. With those two models out of the way, the list comes down to the Figo, Aspire, Freestyle and the Endeavour.

Figo/Freestyle/Aspire

The first change is that the Absolute Black colour is no longer on offer for the trio. Another shade that Ford has taken away is Deep Impact Blue. It was available with the Figo and the Aspire. Lastly, and much more importantly, automatic variants of the latter two have gone out of production. For both models, the petrol-AT derivative comprised of a 1.5-litre petrol engine (121bhp/150Nm) and a 6-speed torque converter. The said powertrain came only in the Titanium trim level. Ford should bring back the option of an automatic transmission for all-tree Figo siblings at a later stage.

Endeavour

Unlike the trio above, changes in the Endeavour’s portfolio are not that significant. Ford’s flagship SUV is no longer on offer in three paint shades – Smoke Grey, Moondust Silver and Sunset Red. With those out of the equation, the potent all-rounder is available in three colours – Absolute Black, Diamond White and Diffused Silver.

As far as the transition from BSIV to BS6 (Bharat Stage 6) is concerned, Ford will rope in both the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. However, it will be interesting to see which engine option will the carmaker offer with the Endeavour in the BS6 reign. The three-row SUV is currently available with two diesel motors – a 2.2-litre and a 3.2-litre. Both engines are available with a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, only the smaller mill is on offer with a 6-speed manual as well.
