Saar: Earlier this year, it was caught flaunting its bigness in Thailand but we weren’t in business then to cover that story! 🙁

No harm, no foul! Sure, we weren’t there to cover that story when the refreshed Ford Endeavour was spied undisguised in Thailand earlier this year but we are now and it has been caught yet again. This time around, the Ford Everest facelift, which in India will eventually come as the mid-life update of the Ford Endeavour, was caught in Ford’s home ground – Dearborn, Michigan.

Let’s make it perfectly clear, shall we, that the new Ford Endeavour won’t be a far cry away from the current model in terms of styling. In these spy pics, we can see a slightly different, but still draped in shiny chrome, radiator grille. Accompanying it is a mildly modded front bumper, primarily to accommodate a restyled sliver-coloured frame cum faux diffuser. Based on the pics that surfaced earlier this year, the rear of the SUV remains unaltered in design. At max, we can hope for a new set of alloy wheels. The rest looks unmistakably similar to what we have in India as Ford’s flagship SUV.

What we can speculate on is that Ford will up the Endeavour’s game in terms of features it offers. That could include a mild-hybrid tech for auto engine start/stop and more features as standard across the range including 7 airbags, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system and a sunroof. Additionally, we expect Ford to rework the interior ambience with new upholstery options and a refreshed dashboard layout.

It was in January 2016 when Ford India launched the current-gen Endeavour in India. If Ford wants to run this generation of the Endeavour for about five years before launching an all-new iteration of it, mathematically it should launch the refreshed Ford Endeavour in the early second-half of this year. Mechanically, it is likely to remain unaltered, offering the 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre diesel engines with just the 6-speed automatic transmission. Ford might extend the variant list from three to about five, just to spread the Endeavour’s price list a bit more.
