Every year, J.D. Power conducts different kinds of studies to capture the voice of consumers. One of those studies is tagged as India Original Equipment Tyre Customer Satisfaction Index. As the name suggests, it tries to capture the overall consumer sentiment regarding the tyres they use for their beloved cars and utility vehicles. This year’s results are out and Bridgestone India has pipped the competition in two out of three segments – Midsize car and Utility Vehicles (UV).

On a scale of 1,000, the Indian arm of the Japanese tyre manufacturer scored 861 points in the midsize car segment and 836 points in the UV segment. The study, which is in its 19th year, measures satisfaction among original equipment tyre owners during the first 12 to 36 months of ownership across four factors – wear; ride; traction/handling; and appearance. Those factors have been listed in order of their importance.

Here’s what Parag Satpute, who is the MD at Bridgestone India, said about gaining this recognition:

We are happy with this recognition and it only reinforces our confidence in the quality of our product offering. Bridgestone quality benchmarks is one of the key that brought us to the leading position in the industry globally. It is this commitment that has been key to our success in the Indian market and we are confident of retaining these rankings and consumer trust in the future as well.

This year’s study reveals three findings – tyre satisfaction decreases with use; increased usage leads to more problems, and satisfaction drives loyalty and advocacy. If you are wondering how Bridgestone India, part of the world’s largest tyre and rubber company, performed in the third segment for Small Car, it stood second on the podium.
