Saar: A mobile service truck will visit fifteen tier 2 and 3 cities across India this year.

Service On Wheels Mobile Truck

In order to further raise the customer satisfaction quotient, Mercedes-Benz India has commenced a campaign called ‘Service on Wheels’. The basic idea is quite self-explanatory but there’s a lot more to it than what those words convey. A service truck, which will have all the major equipment and tools along with service personnel from Mercedes-Benz, will be heading to fifteen tier 2 and 3 cities in this year. The company is targeting especially those cities where it doesn’t have a direct presence in the form of a service centre.

The list of cities includes Jalgaon, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Valsad, Kutch, Amravati, Udupi, Bellary, Dharwad and Amritsar, where the initiative will kick start. Mercedes-Benz India said that after it has done visiting the targeted cities for this year, it will expand the campaign further by visiting more markets next year. The technical team in the service truck will inspect several aspects of the car including lights, windscreen, wipers, brake discs/pads, any leaks and battery.

The ‘Service on Wheels’ truck will carry out first free inspection and will offer two service packages – A and B. Those include:

  • Vehicle health check-up using Xentry
  • Functional checks of the vehicle interior and exterior system
  • Checks for leakages and damages to the vehicle and in the engine compartment
  • Check the correctness of oil and fluids
  • Checking the health of tyres
  • Checking and adjusting coolant levels
  • Oil and oil filter replacement
  • Checking the poly V-belt
  • Replacement of the dust filters
  • Checking the condition of the axle, axle joints, suspension struts and springs

Mercedes-Benz India Registers Its Highest Ever Half-Yearly Sales

For customers who will be getting their cars inspected or serviced, they will be able to wait in a lounge inside the service truck. The company further added that for more intense repair work, which cannot be performed using just the tools and equipment available on the mobile truck, customers will be able to book workshop appointment then and there.
