Saar: The two-door, four-seater convertible is available in just one variant – C 300.

After launching the C-Class in its refreshed avatar last month, Mercedes-Benz India has now introduced the convertible version of the sedan. Called simply as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet, it is available in just one variant – C 300. It carries an ex-showroom India price tag of Rs 65.25 lakh. It not only becomes the most expensive iteration of the C-Class presently available on sale in India but also the only one to come with a petrol-powered engine. The C-Class Cabriolet is the eleventh product launch by Mercedes-Benz in India this year.

Speaking of which, the BS VI-compliant mill displaces 2.0 litres of fuel and has a 4-cylinder configuration. The engine produces 258PS of power and 370Nm of torque and comes coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The setup is enough for the car to crack the 0-100kmph sprint in 6.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 250kmph.

Mercedes-Benz claims that the C-Class Cabriolet is efficient and aerodynamic with the roof open or closed. This has been achieved with features like AIRCAP system which noticeably reduced the airflow in the interior, hence reducing the aerodynamic drag. Apart from featuring Multibeam LED headlamps with pixel specific beam range and coverage control, and 17-inch alloy wheels, the refreshed C-Class Cabriolet also brings in two new metallic paint options – Mojave Silver and Selenite Grey. Mercedes-Benz will also offer a special exterior colour called Designo Selenite Grey Magno.

On the inside, the convertible C-Class gets goodies like a new generation of telematics system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, new steering wheel with touch control buttons and support for smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Obviously, there are optional extras to choose from. The standout ones include the 64-colour ambient lighting system and an open-pore walnut wood trim. Mercedes-Benz India says that the cost of ownership for the C-Class Cabriolet starts at Rs 67,000 for a period of 2 years.
