Saar: And it makes the sub-4 metre SUV look like a miniature Hummer!
If the brand Hummer had been in business currently, it would have probably pressed charges for plagiarism on Mahindra. Why? Just look at the new accessory kit that the company has revealed for its sub-4 metre SUV, the TUV300. It makes the SUV look like a miniature version of the Hummer H2. The kit in question has been named as Superstyler Kit.
There is an unrelenting silver-ness to the whole makeover kit. And there are two styling elements in specific that remind us of the H2. One, the roof-mounted array of lights. Those lights, as you can see, are accompanied by a silver spoiler. Two, the silver faux air scoop on the bonnet. Other styling enhancements, which are also finished in silver, include a faux skid plate, a protruding lower grille surround and cladding all around the car. The latter looks like as if the panels were literally bolted on their respective places from the outside.
Mahindra hasn’t released complete details of the kit yet. We don’t even know what it will cost on-top of the car’s price. A closer inspection reveals that the alloy wheels are black in colour and plastic cladding on the front doors have a tricolour stripe. Mahindra did not bother releasing any images of the rear or for the interiors or the car. So, it will be difficult to comment on whether the kit brings any changes to either of those aspects. The only other thing that we can speculate on is that this kit will only be available on variants with either a T8 or a T10 badge. That’s because the car in the picture is finished in dual-tone and that is only available from the T8 variant.
As you’d expect, there are no mechanical changes to report to match those ‘Hummer-ish’ looks. Don’t like what the Superstyler Kit will do to you TUV300’s looks, and we won’t blame you for that, there is another kit that the SUV is offered with – Luxury Edition. That has been on sale for a while now and is available in two tiers.
