Mahindra Electric is currently India’s only brand which sells pure electric vehicles (EVs) to everyone. And that has been the case for several years now. To ensure that its customer base remains loyal and has enough power to control almost everything about their beloved EV remotely, Mahindra Electric created a cloud-based platform called NEMO – Next-Generation Mobility. Under it, there were two mobile applications – NEMO Driver and NEMO Commuter – and both offer a range of convenience-enhancing features. Now though, there is the third app and it’s called NEMO Life.

The app, which is available on Apple’s Apps Store and on Google Play Store, has been created to offer over 40 new helpful features. For instance, it adds to the convenience factor by enabling the owner to manage multiple users and cars through a single app, receive reminders for charging the car and get insights on driving and charging performance. On the safety and security front, the app helps in managing multiple users through verification and deliver alerts in case the doors are left unlocked or if the handbrake is not engaged.

More helpful features such as remotely locking and unlocking the car, starting or stopping the charging function, controlling the AC and calculating if the car can complete a certain journey without the need for charging. The last of those features can also calculate how much extra charge the battery requires to reach the destination.

Alongside launching this mobile app, Mahindra Electric also announced that its EVs in India have collectively surpassed 100 million kilometres. Mahesh Babu, who is the CEO at Mahindra Electric said that figure can be translated to going around the earth 2,500 times. He further added that it took 4 years for Mahindra electric cars to complete the first 50 million kilometres. However, he said, the second 50 million kilometres were completed in less than 2 years. His idea was to highlight the growth of adoption of EVs across India.

Mahindra also said that by driving 100 million kilometres with zero emissions, its EVs have helped save over 11,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions in India. It translated those numbers into the need to plant over 5 lakh trees to absorb the equivalent levels of emission.
