In a surprising turn of events, the Ford Figo facelift, which was launched in March this year, has received a revision in its price list. The new prices have come into effect from April 1, 2019. While the Ambiente trim now costs more than what it did last month, the Titanium and Titanium Blu trim levels have received price cuts. Specifically, the petrol- and diesel-Ambiente variants are now priced at Rs 5.23 lakh (Rs 8,000 more) and Rs 6.13 lakh (Rs 18,000 more), respectively.

Over to the Titanium trim. The 1.2 Petrol MT now costs Rs 6 lakh, which is approximately Rs 39,000 less than before, whereas the price for the 1.5 Diesel MT has been dropped to Rs 6.9 lakh after a reduction of Rs 29,000. Even the 1.5 Petrol AT, which was earlier priced at Rs 8.09 lakh, has received a price cut by nearly Rs 39,000. Its new price tag is Rs 7.7 lakh.

Lastly, the Titanium Blu trim. If you now opt the petrol MT variant, you will now pay Rs 6.65 lakh, which is Rs 29,000 less than what you would have done in March 2019. And the diesel MT variant has also received a price cut by approximately Rs 19,000, which means the new price tag is Rs 7.55 lakh. In a nutshell, most of the variants of the refreshed Ford Figo now cost less. Something that costs less is always a welcome development!

As you might have noticed from above, Ford offers three engine options with the Figo – 1.2-litre petrol with 96PS/120Nm; a 1.5-litre diesel with 100PS/215Nm; and 1.5-litre petrol with 123PS/150Nm. While the former two are available only with a 5-speed manual transmission, the last one comes coupled only with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. As far as mileage figures are concerned, the smaller petrol engine can return 20.4kmpl, the diesel is good for 25.5kmpl and the larger petrol mill can return up to 16.3kmpl.

With the revised prices, the Figo becomes an even more enticing prospect. In India, its list of main rivals includes the Hyundai Grand i10, Toyota Etios Liva and the Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Note: All prices given above are ex-showroom Delhi.
