Ford India has launched the mid-life update of the Figo hatchback. Prices start at Rs 5.15 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 8.09 lakh (ex-showroom). In its refreshed avatar, the Figo comes with new engine options, tweaked styling inside and out, more kit and a leaner list of variants. Before we get to the details, let’s look at the complete price list:

Ford Figo Facelift Prices (ex-showoom)

Trim/Engine-Transmission1.2-litre Petrol MT1.5-litre Diesel MT1.5-litre Petrol AT
AmbienteRs 5.15 LakhRs 5.95 Lakh-
TitaniumRs 6.39 LakhRs 7.19 LakhRs 8.09 Lakh
Titanium BluRs 6.94 LakhRs 7.74 Lakh-

As you can see from that lean list of variants, there are no Trend, Trend+ or Titanium+ trims on offer any more. But we do get a new trim name – Titanium Blu. Apart from that, the Figo facelift flaunts new front and rear bumpers, a restyled front grille and 15-inch alloy wheels on the range-topping trim. Inside, the dashboard design has been tweaked to look exactly the same as we saw on the Aspire facelift last year.

Its got some new features too. The most noticeable ones include the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in GPS navigation, push-button start/stop, auto headlamps and wipers and remote keyless entry. As standard, the Figo facelift comes with features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and fog lamps, speed-sensing auto door lock, electric boot release and tilt-adjustable steering wheel.

Based on how the range-topping Titanium Blu trim looks, we wonder if Ford India is going to bother launching sporty variants of the refreshed Figo. Why? That’s because it comes with a dual-tone paint job, decals on the side and rear, gloss-black ORVMs and grille, blue fog lamp inserts and black alloy wheels. Inside, the theme with blue accents is different from the rest of the line-up. And this is where you’ll get the added safety of six airbags.

Over to the most important set of changes – the engines. The revamped Figo has the same set of engines as the Aspire facelift. What that means is that the hatchback now has two new petrol engines on offer. The new 1.2-litre engine pumps out 96PS/120Nm, whereas the 1.5-litre mill produces 123PS/150Nm. Both engines have three cylinders in their configuration but where the former comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, the latter gets a 6-speed automatic (torque converter). There are no changes to report in the diesel department. Ford claims that the mileage figures for the 1.5 diesel, 1.2 petrol and 1.5 petrol are 25.5kmpl, 20.4kmpl and 16.3kmpl, respectively.

Also worth mentioning is the 5 year/1,00,000km warranty that it comes with as standard. The refreshed hatchback is available in seven colours – White Gold, Moondust Silver, Smoke Grey, Absolute Black, Deep Impact Blue, Ruby Red and Oxford White. The Figo facelift renews its rivalry with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and the Toyota Etios Liva.
